Halloween come and gone…

October 31, 2007

Well, another Halloween has come and gone now. Thank God. I thought it was never going to end. The endless nights of staying late to decorate, and the seemingly endless hours of running around a maze. Chopping ff my hair so that the Korean teachers would think that I cared about Halloween…and ruining a good shirt of mine, so that it would look like I spent good effort putting a costume together.

Whooo…thank God again that it’s over.

The maze has bee torn down, and my sore throat will cease to exist soon enough. The kids will all go back to being bored, and not scared, and we will regain or rigidity. Thank you. Hahaha. It shouldn’t have been so complicated, but it was…and it is done.

On a happier note. My Kindy kids were so damn cute as usual in their costumes this morning. I can’t get over at how cute they can be. In their Power Ranger outfits, the wizard get ups, and the princess outfits. A-DOR-A-BLE…hahaha. I will have pictures soon! Trust me…

What are we teaching for…

October 30, 2007

There are many days that I come home or leave work in a bad mood because it seems as if the parents of our children don’t give a crap of what their children are doing in or out of class. This goes mostly for my afternoon kids and their parents. The making up of excuses for why they haven’t done their homework, and waht is possibly more important then their English Academy…

Well, today as I was writing my evaluations for one of my KINDERGARTEN children, and found the greatest notes ever. It read:

To: Aaron/Bridget

Firstly, I want to say “thank you”. Thanks to your teaching, Yonah likes English. Today I heard a pop song from Yonah when we took a shower together. I was very very happy. I appreciate what you have done.

From: Yonah’s Father

This was quite possibly the greatest thing I could have read right now. It just goes to show you, that no matter what you do, knowing you are making a difference is such wonderful reinforcement.
