Celebrations…

August 7, 2008

Well, the time has come and gone to be home, and return to this foreign land in which I live. The time we had was far from sufficient, and left much to long for. Caught between a world we must endure, and a world not quite in our reach, we continue on.

I can’t speak enough about the longing to return home. I know that once I return to the swing of things, like actually having my own place to call home this will die a bit, until then, we remain wanting.

Getting back to the post at hand. The island was more than beautiful, and only wish we could have stayed long, as well as having Da Hye with us. It was a great time, and I think the family loved in immensely. We got to go the Tea Museum, and well as the Sex Museum, which would have been better had it been in English, but what are you gonna do. We saw a few temples, a few waterfalls, and enjoyed the scenery. I think it would have been a lot of fun to tour the island via scooter. That would have taken much longer, but provided a much more relaxed sense of adventure. Next time perhaps, next time.

Our final day in Seoul was a day of shopping and shopping, and more shopping. We plundered for gifts, and memories to hang upon the wall. Well, rather, my mother did more of that than I. I mostly stuck to presents for my wife and friends. We were called home early in order do some final alterations on said dress and tux.

THE WEDDING was wonderful. As a guy, I can honestly say, that for our wedding, excluding spending a million dollars on everything you would ever want for your wedding. It was more than I ever expected, and the support we received from friends and family was overwhelming. Thank you all, it was truly an experience of a lifetime.

We then traveled back to the states where we rode roller coasters, emptied storage spaces, toured with the in-laws, had a celebration of the occasion, spent a steamy night in a hotel in the Dells, and rested with family. Altogether way to short.

I can say however with out going into too much detail, that we have been blessed by God beyond belief. His kindness and blessings showered upon us as we celebrated a monumental occasion in both our lives. His mercy is swift, and his kindness sure. And we are blessed. Over and over again blessed. Again, I cannot explain the amount of grace laid down.

Also, again, thank you to anyone and everyone who contributed to the blessings of our wedding, and our vacation. You are angels.

In his name. Always. Amen.
